CPI strongly criticized the BJP government

Releasing the population data with a communal motive is dangerous
Ludhiana: 26 August 2015: (Peoples Media Link):
The Communist Party of India (CPI) district Ludhiana strongly criticized the BJP government for releasing the population data with a communal motive to split the society in the wake of upcoming Bihar elections.  It is undesirable to release population growth data on religious lines as it can be used by the communal forces with malafide intentions. Fact of the matter is that the growth rate of Hindu population has decreased by 3.16% i.e. from 19.92% to 16.76 whereas Muslim population growth rate has decreased by 4.92% i.e. from 29.52 to 24.60 during the decade 2001 to 2011. In a statement released today Com Kartar Singh Bowani, Com D P Maur and Dr Arun Mitra said that population growth depends on the socio economic and education status of the people. The growth of population among the economically and educationally better sections among all the communities and religious groups is not much different. Need is to frame the policies to uplift the weaker sections so that they become conscious of the need to control the family. Centre’s Modi Govt. should rise above communal lines and instead   think of country’s development.
