of BSNL Employees union held a massive demonstration in front of GMT
office, Bharat Nagar Chowk Ludhiana, demanding scrapping of derogatory
recommendations of Bibek Deb Roy committee to Privatization Indian
railways. Addressing the gathering Com. Balbir Singh all India president
BSNL employees Union said that the Narendera Modi Government is
implementing Neo- Liberal policies more aggressively than the UPA
Government. The existence of Indian public sector is under threat as
recently Shri Narendra Modi has stated that it is not the job of
Government to be in business. It is crystal clear from his remarks that
the Government will sell the mighty public sector of India to the
multinational companies and Indian capitalists which is not in the
interest of the country as well as the public.
The Bibek Deb Roy
committee has recommended privatisation of Indian Railways against which
unions of Indian railways are protesting and demanding its scrapping.
He further told that the same BJP Government scrapped the DOT and
created a new company BSNL which is struggling for its existence due to
the implementation of Neo- Liberal and pro private companies policies.
If the railways is privatise similar will be the position of the
railways. He called upon all employees of Public Sector to intensify the
struggle against these policies.
Com. Balwinder Singh district
secretary of Ludhiana unit of union extended full support to the
agitation of Railways employees and demanded immediate scrapping of
Bibek Deb Roy committee recommendations.
Others who spoke on during
the demonstration include Com. Budh Singh circle treasurer, Parmjit
Singh District president, Avtar Singh Jhande Assitt. District Secretary,
Amarjit Chander Distt. Cashier,Darshan Singh,Madan lal,Vijay Verma,
Atul Sharma,Amrik singh,Gurcharn Singh Chubki all branch Secretary.
